What if unwanted fabrics could become beautiful, useful products while helping people develop new skills and opportunities?
In County Roscommon, Ireland, Cycle Up Textiles ( www.cycleup.ie ), an initiative of Roscommon Women's Network, is showing how this can happen.
Cycle Up Textiles
Cycle Up is a circular economy social enterprise that transforms waste and reclaimed textiles into handcrafted products, including bags, gifts and home accessories.
Instead of allowing materials to go to waste, the initiative gives them a new purpose through creativity, sewing and upcycling.
But Cycle Up is about more than making new products.
It also provides training and opportunities for people to develop practical skills, share knowledge and build confidence.
Through its work, Roscommon Women's Network demonstrates how environmental sustainability can go hand in hand with social inclusion, learning and empowerment.
Cycle Up is a great example of how local initiatives can turn circular economy principles into meaningful action within a community.
